As well said by Zelda "Don't Go Alone". Halloween is a very special time of year where people dress up in costumes and go out to get candy. So go with a group of friends and have a type of costume prop that could be used to defend yourself if need be.
Double check your candy when you get home. See if you can tell if it's been resealed or not. It's better to have Store bought candy than homemade treats since you don't know what's in it. Also, cut the candy in half or quarters to check if anything is in it. Or if your an adult buy your own candy.
On Halloween Sometimes trick or treating can make you walk for a pretty good amount of time. So don't forget to plan your route ahead of time to make sure you don't get lost. Wear some comfy shoes. Stay well lit so you are easily seen and carry a flashlight (or a Mag light). Short Costumes are best for long walks and by short I mean it doesn't touch the ground. Try to avoid masks as they limit your eyesight and can be hard to breathe in.
